Gokken en gekkigheid? Nee, we hebben een beurs ontvangen om naar de 25e APP-conferentieth<\/sup> te gaan en we gaan leren!<\/p>

Zoals ik in mijn vorige blogpost heb uitgelegd, is de APP een organisatie die zich inzet voor het verspreiden van informatie over veiligheid en hygi\u00ebne in de piercing branche. Elk jaar is Las Vegas de thuisbasis van de jaarlijkse APP-conferentie die wordt bijgewoond door piercers van over de hele wereld om les te geven, informatie uit te wisselen, te netwerken en ervaringen te delen. Het is de perfecte plek om meer te weten te komen over de laatste ontwikkelingen binnen de piercing wereld.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Dit jaar de kans krijgen om daar deel van uit te maken, is een droom die uitkomt!<\/h1>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Dus wat zijn deze beurzen? Elk jaar kunnen een aantal mensen ondersteuning krijgen om het voor hen gemakkelijker te maken om naar Vegas te gaan. De APP wil dat iedereen die dat wil aanwezig kan zijn, maar weet dat niet iedereen daar de nodige middelen voor heeft. Sponsors dragen fondsen bij en deze worden uitgegeven in de vorm van beurzen of deelbeurzen.<\/p>

Piercers kunnen een beurs aanvragen en een commissie beoordeeld wie deze het meest nodig hebben. Dit proces is behoorlijk uitgebreid en als sollicitant moet je echt wat werk verzetten. Maar nogmaals, het is zeker de moeite waard, want het geeft je de kans om naar het grootste piercing-evenement ter wereld te gaan.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Ik solliciteerde en ontving de beurs in 2020, maar vanwege de pandemie werd de conferentie geannuleerd en werd mijn beurs doorgeschoven naar 2021. 2021 kwam maar opnieuw resulteerde covid-beperkingen in een geannuleerde conferentie. Begrijpelijk natuurlijk, want de risico's waren gewoon te groot maar nog steeds teleurstellend, ik keek er echt naar uit.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

de conferentie zou dit jaar weer plaatsvinden, maar ik moest me opnieuw aanmelden.\u00a0Ik herinnerde me hoe zenuwslopend het de laatste keer was. Het maken van de aanvraag was leuk, maar het wachten op het definitieve antwoord was gevuld met angstaanvallen en het impostor-syndroom. Ik voelde me onwaardig en zeer onzeker en ik dacht zelfs aan afhaken. En nu zou ik dat opnieuw moeten doormaken.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Als de pandemie me 1 ding heeft geleerd, is het dat je dingen niet als vanzelfsprekend kunt beschouwen.<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Er zijn veel dingen waar ik geen controle over heb en het is een verspilling van energie om me daar zorgen over te maken. Als ik dit jaar de beurs niet zou krijgen, weet ik in ieder geval 2 dingen: 1, het zou naar een andere geweldige aanvrager gaan die het echt nodig heeft en 2, ik kan volgend jaar altijd weer solliciteren.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Onnodig te zeggen dat ik na de afsluitingen en het verplaatsen van mijn studio ernstig de middelen miste om op eigen kracht aanwezig te zijn, dus ik heb me opnieuw aangemeld. Wetende dat de beslissing in handen is van mensen die ik kan vertrouwen om de juiste beslissing te nemen voelde ik me niet zo angstig als in 2020. Maar toen het nieuws kwam dat ik opnieuw de beurs kreeg, was ik weer extatisch! Ava heeft zich dit jaar ook aangemeld en kreeg hetzelfde geweldige nieuws, dus we gaan in juni samen op avontuur!<\/p>

We zullen ons aansluiten bij het team van vrijwilligers die elk jaar dit evenement mogelijk maken en zo zullen we ook ervaren wat er komt kijken bij het organiseren van een evenement van deze omvang. Ik zal natuurlijk een speciale post schrijven over het evenement en mijn ervaring tijdens mijn vrijwilligerswerk. Er zullen veel dingen zijn om over te schrijven, dat weet ik zeker!<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
